ES TODO CUENTO es una serie de dibujos del artista argentino Pietrapiana, radicado en Nueva York, que consta de dos partes. El título de este proyecto: Es Todo Cuento, juega con el doble sentido del termino. Por un lado hace una referecia ‘literal’ a un momento clave en la historia del hombre y por otro lado hace hincapie en el modismo que sugiere que todo es subjetivo, parcial, según quienes escriben la historia o cuentan el cuento.

Parte 1

Pietrapiana ha seleccionado de forma subjetiva determinados momentos claves en la historia del hombre (occidental). Cada uno de estos temas ha inspirado una pieza en particular realizada sobre vinilos publicitarios reciclados, los cuales utiliza como soporte. La muestra incluirá además 30 dibujos de pequeño formato a modo de mural/ mosaico.

Parte 2

A su vez, Pietrapiana ha sido invitado por El Bodegón para realizar una residencia/ taller durante dos semanas con estudiantes secundarios de Los Vilos. Durante dichas sesiones los jóvenes analizarán los temas seleccionados o desarrollaran temas que les interesen y realizarán obras colaborativas en base a dichos temas. Estas obras colaborativas serán exhibidas en el mismo centro, a modo de “eco”con las obras originales del artista.

El proyecto culminará con una muestra el 25 de Julio de 2015 en El Bodegón de Los Vilos, Chile.

“Estodo cuento/Tall Tales” is a series of drawings by New-York basedArgentinian artist Cristian Pietrapiana consisting of two parts. The originaltitle in Spanish “Es Todo Cuento”, literally “Its all about stories or tales”references a pivotal moment in Mans history as well as commenting on the factthat everything is subjective, partial and it all depends on who is writing ortelling the story/tale.

Part 1

Pietrapiana has subjectively selected key momentsand themes in western civilizations’ history. Each of those themes has inspireda piece executed on discarded vinyl signs originally done for publicitypurposes. The exhibit also includes 30 small scale drawings assembled in amosaic, or larger mural, pattern.

Part 2

Pietarpiana has been invited by “El Bodegon” toconduct a two week residency/workshop with high school students from the town(Los Vilos). During this workshop, students will analyze the selected themes orwill be able to develop themes of their interests. They will create workinspired by those themes. The student work will be presented and exhibitedalongside Pietrapiana’s work, therefore echoing his ouvre.

The project will culminate with a grand exhibit onJuly 25th, at the Bodegon Cultural Center in Los Vilos, Chile.
